YVR Pickup Guide

Plan a YVR pickup with flight details, terminal coordination, baggage timing and onward transportation considerations.

A smooth YVR pickup depends less on luxury and more on accurate flight information, clear communication and knowing where your transportation mode meets passengers.

Before the flight

Confirm the airline and flight number, because a route may arrive at a different terminal than expected or experience a schedule change. If someone else made the reservation, make sure the passenger has the provider's contact details and the provider has the passenger's mobile number.

After landing

Passengers should follow airport signage through immigration and baggage collection where applicable before going to the agreed meeting location. Public-transit, taxi, rideshare and privately arranged pickups use different procedures, so do not assume one service's meeting point applies to another.

International arrivals

International arrival times can vary because customs and baggage processing are not identical for every flight. Build flexibility into onward connections and avoid scheduling a tight appointment immediately after a long-haul arrival.

Connecting to a longer route

If YVR is only the beginning of the trip, review the destination guide as well. Whistler involves the Sea-to-Sky Highway; Seattle adds an international border crossing; Canada Place introduces cruise check-in timing. Those factors matter more than the short airport pickup itself.

For live terminal procedures, airline information and current airport notices, check Vancouver International Airport's official website before travel.

Before the flight lands

Give a pre-arranged transportation provider the correct flight number rather than only an estimated arrival time. Flight tracking can help a dispatcher follow schedule changes, but baggage collection, customs and passenger readiness still affect the actual pickup.

Travellers should keep the provider’s contact method available after landing. Airport pickup procedures can differ between taxis, rideshare and pre-arranged vehicles, so follow the instructions for the service you selected.

International and domestic arrivals

International arrivals can require additional processing before passengers reach the public arrivals area. Domestic arrivals may be faster, but baggage delivery still varies. Avoid scheduling a tight onward connection based only on the aircraft landing time.

If you are meeting family or a group, agree on one communication plan. Larger parties should also confirm that the vehicle has enough cargo space for all checked and carry-on luggage.
